Outstanding performance by TYR triathlete Richard Lawrie on his debut at the Standard Bank Ironman African Championships which was recently held in Nelson Mandela Bay, Port Elizabeth.

Richard secured a much converted Kona slot for World Ironman Championships in Hawaii later this year. His time of 9:03:40 placed him 1^st AG 25 – 29 and the 4^th South African athlete home in a field of just over 2000 international & local competitors.
