Richard Lawrie, a 24 year old amateur triathlete from Port Elizabeth, has become the latest ambassador for TYR South Africa.

TYR has sponsored Richard with a range of triathlon kit including the high performance Hurricane Cat 3 wetsuit.

Full time triathlon coach and owner of the Eastern Cape Marines Triathlon squad, Richard has a passion for triathlons. Off season you can find Richard taking part in mountain biking and trail running events.

Beginning his triathlon career just under 4 years ago with an obsession to be become a professional triathlete, Richard has proved his mettle in past events, coming 7^th overall at the recent Knysna Big 5 Challenge.

“Triathlon is a huge passion of mine and I really enjoy helping others achieve their goals. I strive to take my racing to a new level and hope to be competing at the highest level one day,” says Richard.

Richard goes on to say “I am looking forward to representing the TYR brand and I can only hope to continue improving as an athlete and coach.”
