TYR SA gets a new ambassador

Richard Lawrie, a 24 year old amateur triathlete from Port Elizabeth, has become the latest ambassador for TYR South Africa.

TYR has sponsored Richard with a range of triathlon kit including the high performance Hurricane Cat 3 wetsuit.

Full time triathlon coach and owner of the Eastern Cape Marines Triathlon squad, Richard has a passion for triathlons. Off season you can find Richard taking part in mountain biking and trail running events.

Not only is Richard an active participant in the multi-sport arena but is ideally positioned as a coach to ensure the features and benefits of our comprehensive product offering is highlighted and made available to other end users. We have no doubt that Richard will excel and achieve many podium finishes in the years to come.”

Beginning his triathlon career just under 4 years ago with an obsession to be become a professional triathlete, Richard has proved his mettle in past events, coming 7th overall at the recent Knysna Big 5 Challenge.

“Triathlon is a huge passion of mine and I really enjoy helping others achieve their goals. I strive to take my racing to a new level and hope to be competing at the highest level one day,” says Richard.

Richard goes on to say “I am looking forward to representing the TYR brand and I can only hope to continue improving as an athlete and coach.”
