New York, NY – May 14, 2014 – As a partner of the not-for-profit organization Asphalt Green, TYR Sport is helping raise money for Asphalt Green’s FIT KIDS FIT CITY campaign, which aims to bring sports and fitness to 30,000 NYC children this year through free community programs, including the nationally-recognized learn-to-swim program, Waterproofing.

Tonight Bloomingdale’s will host a charity fashion show featuring kids ages 6-13 modeling the latest spring fashions. The young models are members of Asphalt Green’s AGUA swim team, as well as Waterproofing participants from the River East Elementary School in East Harlem.

Spectators will also have a chance to witness the unveiling of two unique swim caps that were produced by TYR Sport and specially designed by Darcy Miller. Sold exclusively at the 59^th Street Bloomingdale’s, 10% of tracked sales throughout the store (excluding furniture, fur and gift cards) during the two-hour event as well as 100% of proceeds from the swim caps will be donated to Asphalt Green’s FIT KIDS FIT CITY campaign.

Since 1993, Asphalt Green has provided water safety training and swim instruction to encourage a lifetime fitness habit to thousands of New York City children for free through Waterproofing. This year alone, Asphalt Green is to teaching more than 2,200 kids from 39 schools across the city to swim.
