TYR Sport is delighted to announce it has inked a deal with Ironman Champion James Cunnama.
The athlete burst into the 2014 season with a stellar performance at Ironman 70.3 South Africa. He earned the men’s title by clocking in at 4:05:00, a full 23 seconds ahead of the 2nd place finisher. This marked his first win on African soil.
Cunnama, who hails from South Africa, has an impressive athletic past. In 2013, he placed 4th at the Ironman World Championships in Kona, Hawaii. That same year, he took 1st place at Challenge Walchsee and Ironman 70.3 Cozumel, as well as 2nd place at Ironman Texas. In addition, Cunnama won the 2012 Challenge Roth with a personal best Ironman time of 7:59:59.
To date, Cunnama has earned eight podium finishes at Ironman 70.3 races: three 1st place wins and five 2nd place wins. TYR is proud to help support this talented athlete as he continues to work hard to carve out his spot in triathlon history.
