TYR SA sponsored the 2014 Nedbank National Championship for swimmers with a physical disability which was hosted by Western Province.

Three of the swimmers TYR sponsored swam so well that they made the Rio 2016 Paralympic squad.  They are Jean Pretorius, Achmat Hassiem, and Hendri Herbs.  Achmat and Hendri are in the Senior squad and Jean is in the Youth squad.

All in all 33 events were participated in by the eight swimmers.  They won 22 medals of which 13 were gold and 6 were silver.
